2009 ‘Duality’…Solo Exhibition…CiCi Segura Gonzalez

ChimMaya Gallery

According to Webster dictionary the word ‘Duality’ is the quality or state of being dual or of having a dual nature. Artistically, I live in both the abstract and figurative world.

Though I am primarily an abstract painter, my figurative is something that surfaces from time to time. For this unusual exhibit, the common thread running though my artwork is a circus theme.

I was inspired by the photographer, Irina Ionesco, who was born into an eastern European circus and worked as a snake charmer. She challenged me to create paintings of her exotic photographs. They lent themselves well to the darker mood that runs through my small circus scenes. My abstracts capture the rhythm and color of the theme.

Opening Reception

Sunday, July 12th

3:00pm – 7:00pm

CiCi Segura Gonzalez is a name synonymous with talent, style, and a unique vision of the world…that only a gifted artist can capture.

Moving between the abstract and figurative world….CiCi blurs the lines between what most artists can and cannot do.

This new exhibition…is sure to capture your mind and senses on many levels. The haunting images of the circus and ‘Ionescoesque‘ figures…are alluring and hypnotic.

After participating in many group exhibitions at ChimMaya we are pleased to exhibit the artwork of CiCi Segura Gonzalez / Duality in our North Gallery.
